VersiPave®GP - lightweight paving on balconies and decks

On building structures where weight bearing loads need to be minimised, being able to pave without using heavy bedding sand or screeds is an important advantage.

By making this possible, VersiPave®GP, Elmich Australia Pty Ltd’s high strength adjustable plastic paver supports have been met with acclaim by construction and landscape engineers in Australia and overseas.

VersiPave®GP enables pavers to be installed without the need for sand or screeds, making the product perfect for roof tops, balconies, swimming pool surrounds or decks where weight minimisation is a priority. Being stable and secure without needing to be adhered or fixed into place means that waterproofing membranes and services under the pavers are easily accessed.

VersiPave®GP creates an air gap under the paver, thereby improving thermal and acoustic insulation. Made from 100% recycled plastics, VersiPave®GP is lightweight but strong enough to support a 2,400 kg load.

VersiPave®GP is also able to adjust for falls in the roof slab or for variations in the thickness of the pavers. Each pedestal has four integrated raised chocks which can be adjusted in 1 mm increments, from 24 to 35 mm. Furthermore, 10 mm and 30 mm ‘snap on’ extenders are available that can raise the height of the paving base up to 150 mm. VersiPave®GP also ensures pavers are unaffected by mould or algae, and efflorescence is eliminated as pavers are not embedded in sand or screeds.

The 4mm tabs on each VersiPave®GP unit ensure that once installed, the pavers don’t move and water drainage, onto the membrane below, is promoted. The integrated chocks on each unit cater for falls in slabs in any direction so that the resulting paved surface is level.

VersiPave GP units have been installed on many major projects in Australia including the Hilton Hotel and Transport House in Sydney; Anzac House and Green slopes Hospital in Brisbane; Telephone Exchange Building in Melbourne; and the University of SA in Adelaide.
