Water experts from across the globe will meet in Melbourne on March 19 to discuss ‘intelligent’ ways to conserve and manage water.
The 10th Rain Bird Intelligent Use of Water Summit will be held at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne. The Summit is presented by Rain Bird, the world’s leading provider of irrigation products and services, in partnership with Smart Approved WaterMark, Australia’s outdoor water efficient product labelling body.
Keynote speakers, including Dr Bryson Bates (Chief Research Scientist with CSIRO’s Division of Marine and Atmospheric Research), will tackle subjects including climate change and the importance of intelligent landscaping for water conservation.
The free event will also feature a panel discussion focusing on water conservation policies, programs, initiatives and trends. Panellists include Benjamin Grumbles; Mary Ann Dickinson; Geoff Gardiner; Julian Gray; Stuart White; and Greg Stewart.
Participants and attendees will also have the opportunity to be involved in a series of breakout sessions led by key members of Australian landscape industry associations, research institutes and water utilities. These sessions will focus on topics such as: alternative water sources for irrigation; water-efficient landscape design; and the link between climate change and water.
