Aloe-Aloe: the toughest flowering landscape plants
The Aloe-Aloe collection of spectacular flowering aloes is an exciting new addition to the plant palette widely available to landscapers.
The Aloe-Aloe collection of flowering aloes are increasingly being used by architects, designers and landscapers as tough perennials, shrubs and trees to reintroduce colour and diversity back into landscapes without having to rely on reticulated water. With the recent rain across the country they have been thriving and yet when dry conditions return they will continue to put on an amazing show of flowers.
The statuesque and contemporary architectural shape of aloes along with their aesthetic strength, durability and drought tolerance has been a big driver of usage in the past. Landscapers, developers and councils are now using the aloe-aloe cultivars for their flowering qualities. These cultivars provide:
• a wider range of flower and foliage colour and texture;
• faster growth;
• longer flowering periods;
• dramatically more profuse flowering;
• more resistance to disease and pests;
• generally much easier to grow, requiring very little care;
• plants able to flower younger.
With six large Australian wholesale nurseries growing these plants all around Australia and many others distributing them, securing supply will be easy.
