Westfield Whitford City food court glows with smart RGB lighting upgrade.

As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing public spaces, Westfield engaged Integrated Power to design and supply a vibrant RGB lighting system for the alfresco food court precinct at Whitford City Shopping Centre in Western Australia.

Surrounded by popular bars and eateries, the open-air food court offers a lively social atmosphere — and now, a coordinated lighting display that brings the space to life after dark. Integrated Power’s design focused on illuminating the many large potted trees throughout the area, using colour and light to elevate the nighttime ambiance and highlight natural features.

Given the public-facing nature of the installation, safety was a top priority. Integrated Power specified extra low voltage (ELV) RGB luminaires to ensure maximum safety for patrons and staff in high-traffic zones.

The lighting system is powered by Casambi wireless control, a crucial component given the challenges of running control cabling through landscaped areas and tree planters. The wireless solution allows for complete flexibility in programming, colour changes, and scheduling — all managed easily through a mobile app.

Installation was carried out by Powerbrite, who ensured a clean and discreet fit-out by carefully routing and concealing all wiring and components within the landscape and structures.

The result is a dynamic, scalable lighting system that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, while giving Westfield the flexibility to adapt the mood for events, seasons, or special occasions — all with just a few taps.
