SOUTHBANK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

In an aim to enhance the learning experience, the theme of this furniture range was to provide both private and gathering places for users. The reference to pixels was incorporated as both decorative and functional elements, which in turn became part of the suite’s identity. The need for robust yet visually light and distinctive pieces to enhance the surrounding built environment were key considerations, as is the case when creating comfortable places for people to live and work.

OPPORTUNITIES

Trying out new ways to make street furniture is always on the agenda, so with changes to the Street + Garden fabricator’s ability to cut and shape metal using CNC machinery, this became a major driver for how the furniture was made for Southbank Institute of Technology.
