SMART MOVES IN MOAMA

An Australian first, Moama on Murray Resort now offers an all-new hard-wearing fibreglass Park Edition Modular Pumptrack.

For 150 years, Echuca was seen as Australia’s paddle-steamer capital, and now has a reputation as a great holiday destination for people of all ages. The managers of Moama on Murray Resort call it “a bushland paradise on the banks of the Murray River”.

Situated on the traditional land of the Yorta Yorta people, Moama on Murray Resort is nestled on 34 hectares of glorious Australian bushland. Part of the Tasman Holiday Parks network, the award-winning resort is close to the NSW/Victoria border at Echuca, around two hours’ drive north of Melbourne.

While there are plenty of activities for young children, the resort’s former manager, John Nunan, was looking for something to keep holidaying teenagers engaged. “ The resort attracts a lot of families. At peak times, we’ve got around 500 people onsite, including around 50-odd teenagers,” John explained.

“We needed to find something to motivate this older age group, to keep them out of trouble and get them off their smartphones.”

To meet this need, the resort called on Parkitect Australia to supply a Park Edition Modular Pumptrack — fast becoming Australia’s most popular pump track of choice.

Getting plenty of use during the pandemic,  the pump track at the resort is a favoured spot for birthday parties and family picnics, being popular with users of all ages.

To create a pleasant environment and blend in with the surrounding landscape, the area around the pump track has been artfully landscaped. An adjacent footpath connects the track to nearby play equipment, making it easy for kids to hop on and off the track when they want to switch it up.

Super strong yet lightweight, the Park Edition Modular Pumptrack is adaptable to any environment. Its sleek, rounded design is lower to the ground and 30 percent wider than earlier Modular Pumptrack designs. With its hidden hardware, the Park Edition is safer for riders and even more vandal-proof than before.

As with all Parkitect tracks, each pump track module is pre-engineered and certified, complying with all relevant Australian standards. This provides a guaranteed geometry and a safe yet exhilarating experience for riders of bikes, scooters and skateboards.

Flexible in design, the pump track can be changed, moved or upgraded as required. A big plus is the track’s simple assembly by non-specialist trades. Local contractor Phil Pollard from iassembleit Pty Ltd built the pump track onsite. “Moama on Murray Resort engaged us to install the Parkitect Modular Pumptrack,” said Phil. “It was incredibly rewarding and satisfying to see the finished track in what can only be described as the ultimate kid’s paradise at the resort.

“As it was the first of its kind to be built in Australia, Shaun [of Parkitect Australia] gave us all the advice and instructions we needed to build the track. Both he and Sonja were incredibly professional to deal with, and the finished product looks great,” he added.
