ROARING FUN WASN’T JUST FOR THE 20’S: THE DINOSAUR PLAYGROUND AT EROMANGA

Eromanga, a remote gem nestled in the western corner of Queensland, just got a whole lot more exciting thanks to Quilpie Shire Council's latest addition – a custom-made dinosaur-themed playground. This playful haven, designed by QualiCite and installed by Austek Play, pays homage to Eromanga's rich paleontological heritage and its proximity to the Eromanga Natural History Museum, home to two beloved dinosaurs, Cooper and Zac.

At the heart of this fantastic playground is the QualiCite dinosaur play unit, a roaring centrepiece that captures the imagination of children and adults alike. This structure is like no other, boasting four exhilarating slides to slip down the dinosaur and tucked underneath, a crawling tunnel, inviting little adventurers to explore the depths of prehistoric time.

The adventure continues up the dinosaur's neck, where a challenging climbing net leads to a platform close to the head. Here, young explorers can perch themselves atop their dino friend, surveying the playground kingdom below. For those who seek a more challenging ascent, there's an internal rock wall and a series of steps that allow them to conquer the dinosaur's mighty legs.

On the ground there’s more fun to be had with Omnitech’s two dinosaur springers and basket swing adding bouncing, flying, and laughter to the mix. An overhead challenge unit and an arched overhead challenge ladder provide thrilling activities for older children, promoting strength, balance, and coordination.

Additionally, the park features a "how tall are you?" panel with a dino twist, encouraging youngsters to measure up against their prehistoric friend and for those seeking sensory stimulation, a sensory volcano panel adds an interactive element to the play experience.

The theme of this remarkable playground, inspired by Eromanga's very own Cooper and Zac, two dinosaurs that were discovered in the area and now reside in Eromanga’s national history museum.
