PAR FOR THE COURSE

by BLUECHIP Decking

Not wanting to handicap its patrons, a new no-maintenance clubhouse deck has proven a winner for this round.

A private golf club located in a tranquil rural setting just 30 minutes north of Perth, Lakelands Country Club features a new clubhouse bar and restaurant that was built to stay the course.

Catering to golfers of all levels, Lakelands Country Club boasts a championship 18-hole golf course set among attractive landscaped grounds. The clubhouse offers regular dining opportunities as well as special events and functions.

Designed to provide members and guests with state-of-the-art facilities as well as stunning views over the course, the new clubhouse was constructed with a wraparound deck that can withstand the harsh elements of the Western Australian climate and still look like an ace from any angle.

Using mineral-fibre commercial decking Traxion, the new slim-line deck provides seamless indoor/outdoor flow with a contemporary look that wraps around the building and enhances views across the grounds. With its high slip rating and durable surface, the new deck can handle anything patrons throw at it, from spiked golf shoes to constant traffic from busy food and beverage staff.

Traxion is an ideal decking alternative to timber. Sporting the industry’s best strength-to-weight ratio, making it lightweight and easy to handle, this mineral-fibre composite is stable and moisture resistant. Immersion testing shows maximum moisture absorption values of less than 0.2 percent. It won’t stain or fade and, as it does not contain cellulose, it is maintenance free and won’t degrade due to common mould enzymes. Simply wipe it clean as needed to keep it looking its best.

Due to its parallel orientated internal fibre structure and lack of porosity, Traxion is virtually indestructible, making it an ideal option for outdoor surfaces. A P5 slip rating — the highest possible rating to Australian standards — also makes it compliant for use in all applications, and comes with a 25-year structural warranty.

Traxion is known for its dimensional stability, giving it the edge when it comes to long-term performance and appearance. Its low rate of thermal expansion compared to other composites also means it handles dry, hot conditions well — a boon in the Western Australian climate. UV resistant, Traxion won’t fade, rot, leach, crack, dent, warp, scratch or splinter. Nor will it succumb to insect attack.

Wanting only the best for its club members, Lakelands Country Club made a solid choice with Traxion — no need to call a mulligan on this hole!
