BORAL'S NEW METALLIC TILES

by Boral Masonry

Leading building products manufacturer Boral has launched Australia’s first metallic-finish terracotta flat roof tiles.

The two new Shingle Metallics roof tiles, ideal for architects and designers seeking lustrous and metallic building materials, are available in ‘Meteor’ dark grey and ‘Galaxy’ black with a high quality, kiln-fired glaze.

The flat shingle profile offers a roofing solution for many architectural styles, as well as other exterior design elements including walls. Already well received by architects who embrace contemporary building materials, Boral Shingle Metallics add an ultra-modern finish to homes with their earthy, mineral effect.

“The addition of Metallics to the Boral terracotta shingles offering brings innovation to the roofing market,” said Charlie Condo, General Manager, Boral Roofing and Masonry East. “Designers and architects have been asking for a more modern style and the Metallics range addresses this need, providing an alternative profile and glaze effect to tiles that are currently available. Terracotta is a high quality roofing material. Crafted from prepared natural clays that are kiln fired to extreme temperatures, terracotta roof tiles provide exceptional strength, high colour retention and require minimal maintenance. The new Shingle Metallics roof tiles from Boral can deliver a prestigious look to cutting-edge contemporary homes, or modern finishes to classical dwellings being updated.”

Manufactured to Australian Standards (AS2049) Boral tiles can safely channel rainwater into grey water tanks. They are also salt-safe and frost resistant which makes them ideal for projects from the coast to the mountains.
