Botanix Plant Supply has opened a second site, significantly increasing the company’s capacity while also allowing for expansion.
Botanix Plant Supply now has a second growing site fully operational. The 15 acre site at Somerville, Victoria, has significantly increased the company’s capacity in 40cm pots, but has also allowed expansion into larger container sizes, with 70lt and 150lt stock available for sale now.
Having two distinct micro-climates to grow in has allowed Botanix to tailor the range of product grown at both sites to ensure the best quality is achieved.
The site at Carrum Downs will continue to produce the large range of Australian natives and hedging plants, whilst the Somerville site produces the bulk of the company’s deciduous stock, including a range of fruit trees in 40cm containers.
The increasing trend of ‘grow your own’ has seen the rise in popularity of fruit trees – Botanix produces a range including apples, pears, plums, peaches, nectarines, and some more obscure varieties; persimmon, pomegranate, medlar and quince.
