CENTRAL COAST GRAMMAR

The council of Central Coast Grammar School held a meeting on the 25th of September 1984 to discuss how to progress forward with the establishment of an independent school on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The foundation of the first building block was laid later that year on the 1st of December 1984 and within the first 5 years there was continuous and eager land purchasing and building development to cater for the abundance of enrolment applications. The first official year of enrolment in 1985 saw a total of 165 students and class groups from Year 3 to Year 11 with the first Year 12 class graduating the following year. The founding headmaster of the school was Dr Ron Chambers, which was followed with Richard Lornie in 1986, and now with their current headmaster William Low in 2008.

Since the school was first established the growth and development of the school has continued at a rapid pace throughout its 35 years. The 18 hectare, tree-studded campus offers first class facilities with a current enrolment of 1,300 students across kindergarten to Year 12. 2021 saw the opening of their brand new world-class Junior School and Senior College. The Junior school has new buildings allocated for the three stages that are linked around a central courtyard featuring age appropriate outdoor play zones. There is also flexible furniture and learning spaces that adapt to the learning needs of the moment. They have also ensured that there has been well-designed landscapes with direct access to the sports field, and social science classrooms with cutting-edge learning technology. Another highlight of the school is their Performing Arts Centre that is a professional facility with a 750 seat auditorium, hydraulic orchestra pit, and a catering kitchen with a bar/café.
