UNITY PITCH

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup was held in Australia and New Zealand, from July 20 – August 20. Each World Cup draws attention globally and the 2023 edition was no different, finishing the tournament as one of the most attended and watched sporting events in history.

The tournament was a huge opportunity for the host countries and cities, and promotional activities in the lead up were designed to inspire. The 9 host cities, Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Dunedin, Hamilton, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Wellington were under the spotlight prior to the event, promoting the world class event in prominent locations.

The Unity Pitch is a colourful, portable futsal pitch to promote and represent the 32 participating nations of the 2023 competition, whilst touring the 9 host cities. Attended by many from professional to grassroots players, officials to ministers, along with the public, each city had an opportunity to shine while using this eye-catching pitch as the centrepiece.

Keeping It Green, an APT agent based in Australia and Gameon Turf, an APT agent based in New Zealand, completed the installations across the host cities. Their expertise and skillset enabled the pitch to be installed efficiently as it moved from city to city.

This portable pitch utilises Australian made SYNLawn Coolplay, with the wide range of colours put on full display. Coolplay is designed to accommodate multiple line markings, heavy use and be a multisport surface, making it perfect this promotional project.
