Grandslam Surfaces was offered the unique opportunity by major sponsor of the Australian Open, Google Pixel, to create a feature at their activation zone. The result was an eye-catching tennis court spanning from floor to wall, to ceiling and becoming a photo wall zone that would be visited by thousands of tennis fans across the two weeks of competition.

The court design was created using our Laykold colours on 7mm rubber, chosen to be a vibrant backdrop for photos and videos, that display true to colour on screen, driving fan engagement both in person and across social media. The creative design was made for challenging execution, but the Grandslam Surfaces showed their dedication to their craft, bringing in around 20 staff members on site to support the weight of the wall. Organisers were thrilled with the result, calling it “Courtside Magic” as it became a must visit zone.
