Designing Traditional, Natural and Nature Play Equipment for Playground Standards Compliance Accessibility and Inclusive Play

Since 1986, Consulting Coordination has provided independent design and certification for public art, open space design and inventive playspace design. As a result we offer training in playground design, the course is suitable for those involved in designing playspace, and those wishing to broaden their industry knowledge.

Who Should Attend

This two day Playground Design course is aimed at those who are responsible for the design of manufactured, custom, bespoke or nature play equipment and traditional and natural playgrounds from a designer, manufacturer, or landscape architecture background as well as outdoor spaces for supervised early childhood facilities, kindergartens, childcare centres and pre-schools or prep schools.

The Playground Design course is also recommended for those Operational Inspectors who are considering undertaking assessment and accreditation as an Annual Inspector with the Register of Play Inspectors International - RPII.

It is assumed that all participants will have had some familiarity with the design of play equipment or playgrounds and will have some working familiarity with the Playground Standards at the very least.

It is beneficial for attendees to have a copy of the various Australian Standards that cover play equipment, playgrounds, surfacing and accessibility with you when you attend the course. These standards include AS4685:2004(2012) Parts 1 to 6 and Part 11; AS4486.1:1997; AS4422:1996; AS1428.1:2009.

Assessment and accreditation is available for routine, operational and annual inspectors to the RPII Register; and training can be undertaken as an in-house course or at one of our regularly scheduled courses.
