HIGHGATE RECREATION RESERVE
Natural tones, impressive heights & plentiful play at Highgate Recreation Reserve.
In collaboration with KLG Landscape Consultants and Hume City Council, adventure+ crafted a play space that truly stands out. The design of Highgate Recreation Reserve was guided by three essential pillars: thoughtful design, attention to detail, and the pursuit of unique features that set this space apart.
CATERING FOR ALL AGE GROUPS
Designing a community play area means thoughtfully including children of all ages. For toddlers, it’s essential to provide play equipment that’s safe, easy to reach, and sparks creativity. Older children, on the other hand, are drawn to more adventurous and challenging features. During the Highgate Recreation Reserve playground upgrade, the designers addressed these needs by creating distinct areas for juniors and seniors. This approach ensures not only a welcoming environment for families but also keeps all children actively engaged and safe during their visit.
AREA FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN
The junior play area features a visually appealing design with calming neutral tones and natural timber accents. With a focus on the needs of younger children, the design incorporates lower platforms and easily accessible activities to encourage participation and confidence. This junior play unit exemplifies a thoughtfully crafted space, purpose-built to inspire and safely engage little ones in play.
CHALLENGING PLAY
The senior play unit stands out as a dynamic structure built with the robust steel spectrum+ system, delivering the impressive heights that appeal to older children seeking excitement. Incorporating a variety of modular rope elements and engaging play activities, this senior area offers a rewarding challenge and encourages older children to build both upper and lower body strength through diverse, active play.
