In early March, 2020, Omnitech attended the opening of Danaher Reserve and Botanical Reserve in Wallan. The team was awarded the contract at the end of 2019 to design, supply and install playspaces for the Mitchell Shire City Council.
The playground was designed to have great accessibility throughout and cater to a wider age group for the community. Concrete pathways were constructed to allow easy access for the public, such as young families with prams. Park furniture, such as seat benches and tables, were specifically placed for convenience.
Located in the middle of the playspace is the custom timber unit with a colour scheme of blue and red, and a splash of yellow on the two caterpillar slides. The inhouse designers created a unit that encourages upper body strength to be used through climbing options, such as monkey bars, ropes and climbing walls.
A cantilever and Omni turtle springer were installed to the south of the slides, and further across the path is another set of swings and a custom rope structure. To complete the playspace, Omnitech implemented a basketball court and plenty of lush garden beds with plants, which was also done at Botanical Reserve.
Omnitech also provided the mulch and rubber softfall throughout.
This was another fun and challenging play area that Omnitech hopes the kids will love.
