STODDART MANUFACTURING IS GROWING

In over 50 years of operation Stoddart Manufacturing has taken several opportunities to add business units to their portfolio. Still in their first year at new 25,000m2 headquarters, Stoddart have once again increased their presence in the manufacturing industry with the acquisition of two business units from Adshel Street Furniture Pty. Ltd. In addition to the provision of outdoor structures to facilitate its traditional outdoor advertising business, Adshel built a sizeable business selling outdoor structures to customers throughout Australia and New Zealand.

This business of supply and installation of outdoor structures to councils, transport authorities and major building projects became Adshel Infrastructure, a major player in this space over the last 10 years. In 2008, Adshel added Town & Park street furniture to its portfolio, specialising in outdoor seating, tables, and bin enclosures. Adshel decided in 2013 that its Infrastructure and Town & Park businesses were no longer core to its traditional media business, and sought expressions of interest from parties interested in purchasing them.

This led to Stoddart's acquisition of Adshel Infrastructure and Town & Park, which was completed on 31st December 2013. Throughout the past 15 years, Stoddart Manufacturing has been a major supplier of fabricated metal products to Adshel's businesses and their integration into the Stoddart business is a natural progression. Adshel Infrastructure has been re-branded Stoddart Infrastructure, whereas Town & Park will continue to trade under its well known brand name under new ownership. Bill Stoddart, Managing Director at Stoddart Manufacturing, said that he was excited for the future of both companies.

“The acquisition of Stoddart Infrastructure and Town & Park is a natural fit for us. It lines up well alongside our Architectural Metalwork and Plumbing fixtures businesses, providing great opportunities for growth of all businesses involved.”

Having employed the current staff from the two businesses, both parties believe the specialized skills and knowledge that has been developed over many years will be shared within the company, enhancing the joint capabilities to exciting new levels. Something the General Manager of Stoddart Infrastructure, Matt Emerson, noted.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunities and growth we see our business driving forward with the acquisition made by Stoddart. Stoddart Infrastructure will continue to build urban and transport infrastructure of the highest quality and service our clients have come to expect.”
