Landscape Australia Inc (LAI)

ASSOCIATION PROFILE
As the nationally recognised peak body for the landscape industry, Landscaping Australia Inc (LAI) represents the interests of the state landscape associations and their members providing a unified voice on national agenda issues concerning the landscape industry in Australia.  In addition to representing the viewpoints and interests of the landscape industry the LAI also provides relevant information, services and advice to its members covering a range of specialisations including training, industrial relations, licencing, codes of practice and legal matters.
Landscaping Australia’s mission is to strengthen the skills within the industry and to elevate the value that the landscape industry has to the economy, the environment and the health and cultural wellbeing of all Australians. It also looks to identify emerging trends and skills needs and works with government and other bodies to ensure that the industry is well trained, accredited and a respected career choice.
Landscaping Australia Inc represents the interests of all state and territory associations and represents more than 1500 member companies. Members include residential and commercial landscape contractors, maintenance and horticulture service providers, landscape product suppliers, landscape designers, students and educators. Membership of a state association demonstrates that the member company strives for the highest standards of integrity, quality and environmental management. 
Each state association is represented on the Landscaping Australia board enabling communication to flow directly from individual members via the state’s associations into broader discussions that directly impact daily business decisions and ensures that Landscaping Australia, whilst keeping a national vision, is responsive to macro issues.
Landscaping Australia Inc represents the industry:
To establish a national Landscape Award under the Fair Work Australia legislation
To oversee and sign off on training packages governing skills training for the landscape industry from CII through to Diploma level courses
To ensure the development of an articulated pathway from CII to Diploma level qualifications
To participate in ongoing dialogue concerning urban green spaces including 202020
To develop and advocate policy which is responsive to and recognises the relevance and importance of the landscape industry to all Australians
