Moodie Outdoor Products have over 30 years of experience in the manufacture and distribution of high-quality street furniture, sports courts, shades, bridges, restrooms, play equipment and protective products. With infrastructure designed specifically for use in public areas where reasonable initial cost and minimum maintenance is a factor, Moodie was the perfect choice for Parramatta Council when new sustainable restrooms were required for a number of recreation areas within the district.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the three new restroom facilities designed, manufactured and installed by Moodie have a range of features that make them not only functional but also durable and environmentally friendly. The restrooms feature a layout that includes one disabled cubicle and three ambulant cubicles (1D3A) for maximum usability.  Each unit is fully solar powered and feature rainwater harvesting tanks for cleaning purposes.

Located in Rosella Park (Harris Park), Boronia Park (Epping), and Lions Park (Winston Hills), the Moodie restrooms include auto locking doors and lighting – both powered by solar energy. A pole located just outside the amenities block holds a solar panel that charges a battery inside the service duct, which provides solar power for these features. A 240V power system is in place as a backup source to the solar power system.

In addition, a 2000L water tank has been installed to harvest rainwater for cleaning purposes. The tanks can also be filled with mains water during times of little or no rain. The addition of the 240V power reserve allows for the option of adding a ‘rainbank’ pump that will generate the required water pressure to fill the cisterns with harvested rainwater if required.

Made in manual kit form, the buildings are constructed of rendered blockwork with pre-fabricated, powder-coated steel roof frames and verandah posts for strength and durability. To discourage vandalism and assist with maintenance, the structures’ render is painted internally and externally with an anti-graffiti coating.

Moodie Outdoor Products’ range of restrooms are fully customisable, with a number of options available including roof styles, internal or external finishes, and added fixtures such as change tables, extra basins, showers, and more, to suit any project requirement.
