A GREEN INITIATIVE
25 Jul 2019
City of Melbourne is taking steps towards a green future through the development and implementation of the Valuing Green Guide and Green Our Rooftop collaborate research grant. Find out more about these new initiatives.
VALUING GREEN GUIDE
As part of the City of Melbourne’s Green Our City Strategic Action Plan 2017-2021, the Valuing Green Guide was developed to explore and examine the relationship between green infrastructure and public and private benefits around:
- Water – particularly stormwater runoff and water quality
- Temperature – particularly the urban heat island and heatwaves
- Biodiversity in the city
- Human health and wellbeing
The Valuing Green Guide is based on Quantifying the Benefits of Green Infrastructure in Melbourne, a literature review and gap analysis created by Victoria University and the University of Melbourne, on behalf of the City of Melbourne. Quantifying the Benefits of Green Infrastructure in Melbourne will be publicly accessible of the City of Melbourne website by the end of July 2019.
You can read more about the Valuing Green Guide on the City of Melbourne website here.
