SHADE FABRIC TENSION SYSTEMS

Burnside Village Shopping Centre is located in the beautiful suburb of Glenside and is home to over 100 premium lifestyle and fashion stores. The shopping centre has recently undergone a major extension to provide a greater choice of international standard shopping, improved facilities and quality cafes.

This large courtyard forms an alfresco coffee and dining area, providing welcome respite for shoppers and centre staff alike. But the lack of shade within this valuable outdoor commercial space has limited it’s use, particularly in the warmer months.

Shadeform was engaged to install a series of 3 Issey FTS Fabric Tension System Awnings to the underside of this stylish curved steel framework. The FTS System provides motorised retractable shade for flat, pitched or barrel vault structures. Using Sunworker screen fabric the FTS systems will provide up to 90% solar UV block out. The inclusion of a sun and wind sensor ensures the awnings automatically extend when shade is required and safely retract when wind speeds reach a preset level.
