NEW IRRIGATION POND EMBANKMENT FOR NANANGO

by Australian Concrete Mats

Australian Concrete Mats were tasked with stabilising the slope of a new irrigation pond embankment being built for new pump heads in Nanango, Queensland. The Nanango irrigation pump head was installed on a private property by the farmer to reduce sediment flowing into the ponds and eliminating erosion the dam edges. An excavator was used to dig and shape the sides of the dam and concrete mats were then lifted and put into place. The mats were covered with a concrete edge and slab. Soil was then seeded over the top of the concrete erosion mats, to create vegetation growth and minimise soil slippage

The mats ensure the integrity of the pump stand is maintained and reduces the water lapping at the pump stand wall. A very efficient solution for a challenging scenario, the mats are safe for the environment and do not contaminate the beach or ocean.
