Eureka Landscapes has created a great space for an entire community to gather and unwind.
Just 25km north of Brisbane’s CBD, the 1,000 hectare, award-winning North Lakes development will become home to around 20,000 people, and will include retail, commercial and industrial precincts.
Eureka Landscapes’ skills are showcased in the ongoing project – softscapes, concreting, decks, boardwalks, hardscapes, structures, golf course surrounds, sports grounds, horticultural management and wetland construction.
One of the highlights of the development is the Club North Stage 1 Park. Eureka was brought in to construct a sheltered position for community members to enjoy a BBQ get-together with friends or a comfortable spot to sit and watch the children play on the nearby playground equipment. This shelter is so successful in its design, it even won an award for Best Landscape Structure 2012.
This park and shelter are influenced by the multi-culturalism within North Lakes. The shelter and surrounding parklands draw from many influences – Asian, European and Australian components – all resulting and coming together to create a very impressive and comfortable place for all members of the community to enjoy.
The off-form concrete piers, detailed timber work and custom-built bench seating all add a modern, yet welcoming, feel to the space and the king-size BBQs ensure this part of the development is used and loved by all in the community.
