BP GOES GREEN

by Trex

Recently Trex has been involved with new builds and refurbishments of BP service stations around Australia. The largest and most prominent of these was the Logan Motorway East service Centre Larapinta. This station was designed to support motorists in the rapidly growing industrial areas south-west of Brisbane in the Logan City and Ipswich council areas.

In recent years BP has made a conscious movement toward more environmentally sustainable stations that outwardly reflect their new company approach.  It is for this reason that BP specified Trex’s composite decking materials for the job.

Trex’s composite decking product Transcend® in Tiki Torch became the standard specified for all rebuilds and refurbishments for BP sites in Australia. This product was chosen by BP not only for its aesthetic appeal, but also due to its low maintenance qualities, its commercial warranty and fade/stain resistant nature. Transcend is also made from 95% recycled board, making it the right environmentally-friendly material for BP’s needs.

Transcend® was used to great effect throughout the new builds and refurbishments. It was used for wall cladding, signage and awnings, producing a sleek and clean impression, while projecting a direct connection to the environment.

Beacon Constructions were the contractors for this project.
