20 Mar 2013
Thorn Lighting has recently launched the Plurio and and Clan ranges as a new addition to their existing range of public lighting.

To better adapt to current trends and market demands, Thorn Lighting is constantly developing new products as well as improving existing ones. They have recently launched the Plurio and and Clan ranges as a new addition to their existing range of public lighting.

An emphasis on sustainability has led to the development of the Clan collection and Plurio LED lantern which have an emphasis on Performance, Efficiency and Comfort to public spaces. Thorn utilise the PEC approach to determine the visual effective of their lighting.
Performance: Providing the best visual effectiveness
Efficiency: Conserving energy and effort, reducing CO2 emissions and waste, providing lihting that is practical and efficient to install, operate and maintain
Comfort: Giving people satisfaction and stimulation
In residential and urban outskirt spaces, thousands of inefficient lighting solutions continue to waste resources and create obtrusive light. Thorn's new generation of optical systems, light sources, gears and lighting controls, provide 50% energy savings on current aged installations without compromising on quality of light. Thanks to a good optical cut off and outstanding control of light (0% upwards or backward spill light) Thorn's new lighting products fight against obtrusive light, this is the undesired light that enters the windows of nearby houses or is directed or reflected above the horizontal place that impedes our view of the night sky. Clan and Plurio create the perfect distribution of light for facial recognition by pedestrians and CCTV technology.
Clan and Plurio are available with a virtually endless variety of lantern, bracket and column configurations to suit all major architectural influences. The product line includes two lantern designs and three bracket arms for single, twin, wall and side mounting on 3-6 metre high columns. The lanterns are available with two dedicated optics - street and flood - employing conventional lamps technology or LED versions.
