SPEED DATE A SUSTAINABILITY EXPERT

22 Mar 2018

Recently taking part in the Alternative Technology Association's "Speed Date a Sustainability Expert" forum, the team from Smart Water dispensed expert advice on water harvesting, irrigation and waterwise products.

The Alternative Technology Association (ATA) is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to connect, inspire and assist people to make sustainable choices in their homes and communities. Established in 1980, the ATA provides expert, independent advice on sustainable solutions for the home to households, government and industry.

As ATA Members, Smart Water consulted and provided advice with regards to water harvesting, smart irrigation systems and water-wise products. Attending an industry event such as this was a prime outlet for the company to share their passion, knowledge and experience to an audience who appreciate that water is a valued commodity.

In partnership with the City of Boroondara in Camberwell, the event was an educational and informative day with “dates” booked throughout the afternoon. The “dates” brought plans, sketches, past water accounts, and ideas to workshop and brainstorm with Smart Water's water conservation experts. They in turn were able to offer advice on how to make households, offices, open spaces and properties more water efficient, generate a larger green footprint, and to overall create a “smart water system”.

Some of the following aspects of water-wise living were discussed:

  • Rainwater tanks and rain harvesting systems
  • Water-wise landscaping and gardening
  • Smart irrigation systems
  • Greywater systems
  • Vertical walls and rooftop gardens
  • Water-efficient whitegoods, fittings and fixtures

Smart Water is a long established and highly respected irrigation company that specialises in the design, supply and installation of a wide range of water-efficient drip, sprinkler and spray systems. The company’s goals are to deliver appropriate, sustainable, and cost-effective water outcomes in every situation and on every occasion.

The team is comprised of qualified and experienced irrigation retailers, irrigation designers, irrigation auditors and irrigation installers. Smart Water is the current leading supplier of irrigation supplies and water systems throughout the greater Melbourne region. A consultancy and design service is also offered to those who require guidance, advice and installations to specification.

Smart Water is also a member of Irrigation Australia and Landscape Victoria, and hold a Smart Approved Watermark for water-efficient delivery services.
