PANDA-ING TO PUBLIC DEMAND
27 May 2020
The Chendgu Research Base of Panda Breeding in China will receive a new landmark in the form of a sightseeing tower that allows for visitors to view the giant pandas of the reserve from up high.

UDG·Atelier Alpha won the Conceptual Design of Panda Base Sightseeing Tower competition in Chengdu, China.
As the summit of the Panda Base, the tower will be the landmark building and gateway to the site.
The extensions project aims to transform the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding into the world’s top research base and reservation for giant pandas.
Natural wood tones, a unique cylindrical shape and plenty of spaces for public engagement and observation of pandas form the foundation of the award-winning design.
