LONDON’S KALEIDOSCOPIC CHRISTMAS TREE
02 Dec 2021
An immersive Christmas tree, by lighting specialists This is Loop, has been installed in London's Coal Drops Yard.
Called Prism, the immersive Christmas tree has been installed for the festive season in the King's Cross shopping and dining destination.
The 28-foot-high Christmas tree light installation is covered in mirrors and embedded with strips of multicoloured lights to create a festive atmosphere. A tunnel running through the centre of the installation for visitors to pass through is a kaleidoscopic space filled with reflections of light and colour.
"The Prism has been designed to signify unity and strength and to give visitors the feeling of being 'connected' in light," King's Cross estate said of the project.
Designed by Heatherwick Studio, Coal Drops Yard is a former coal store from the Victorian era that has been turned into a district for shopping and dining. This is Loop is a British creative studio specialising in immersive light installations.
