LEARN FROM THE EXPERTS

28 Aug 2013

National and international landscapers, gardeners, chefs, designers and architects will share their expertise and knowledge at the Australian Garden Show Sydney.

National and international landscapers, gardeners, chefs, designers and architects will share their expertise and knowledge at the Seeds of Wisdom lecture series held at the inaugural Australian Garden Show Sydney from 5 – 8 September in Centennial Park.

The interactive and informative talks allow the public to connect with some of the world’s leading gardening, lifestyle and culinary experts in a broad program covering everything from advanced design to on trend gardening and unusual culinary demonstrations.

Join French master of vertical gardening, Patrick Blanc as he reveals the mystery behind how soilless gardens grow. As a teenager, Blanc conceived the vertical garden as a biological filter for his tropical aquarium. Since then he has decorated vertical surfaces the world over with his green living artworks. Blanc will host two talks, including ‘Cliffs, Caves, Waterfalls, Tree Branches: the natural Habitat for soilless living Plants’ on Thursday 5 and ‘The Vertical Garden: A forty year Innovation’ on Friday 6 September.

Ambitious garden designers can get advice from the UK’s best when duo Andrew Fisher Tomlin and Tom Harfleet tell of their journey from Chelsea to Sydney, sharing their experiences of creating a show feature garden in less than 10 days during their talk titled, ‘A Show Garden Experience’.

The hot topic of balcony gardens will be explored when event Sustainability Curator and designer of the on-site edible Kitchen Garden, Indira Naidoo, explains how to grow fresh food in a small space by producing your own dynamic edible garden during her talk titled, ‘The Edible Balcony – How to grow fresh food in a small space’.

All sessions are included in the price of a daily entry ticket and run for an hour, including a 15-minute Q&A.
