NGIA congratulates Daniel Mansfield from Mansfield’s Propagation Nursery in Victoria for winning Horticulture Australia Ltd’s Young Leader Award for 2012.
Nursery & Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) congratulates Daniel Mansfield from Mansfield’s Propagation Nursery in Victoria for winning Horticulture Australia Ltd’s Young Leader Award for 2012, announced this week.
NGIA CEO, Mr Robert Prince, today said Daniel has been a driving force in the nursery for several years, alongside his parents.
“This award tops off an amazing year for Daniel and Mansfield’s Nursery, which only three months ago achieved the prestigious Silver Rose as the second best nursery in the world, voted by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH).”
“Daniel was largely responsible for their submission into the awards, which was yet another example of the commitment to excellence that he has shown throughout in his career,” Mr Prince said.
Mr Mansfield is Business Development Manager for the family owned wholesale nursery, which supplies commercial nurseries and the landscaping industry with trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials.
The Horticulture Australia Ltd. (HAL) Young Leader Award is presented each year to recognise leadership in any discipline of the horticulture industry by those 35 years of age or under.
“Apart from Daniel being a key member of the Mansfield team which has seen the nursery take out many awards of excellence, he has made a major contribution to our industry, being vice chair of the Victoria Tree and Shrub growers group and inaugural chair of Next Gen Victoria, guiding the development of that group for three years,” Mr Prince added.
NextGen is an industry group that aims to organize seminars and functions focused on the career development of young horticulturalists.
