EMBRACE THE LANDSCAPE
13 Aug 2014
Join the LNA in celebrating the professionalism within our landscape industry at this year’s Australian Garden Show Sydney, September 4 – 7 at Centennial Park.
‘Embrace the Landscape’ is one of only three feature gardens to be created at this year’s Australian Garden Show Sydney, which will held at Centennial Park, September 4 – 7.
‘Embrace the Landscape’ supports all things professional within the world of our Landscape Industry. The feature garden is an informative and interactive display for all to enjoy. Come and enquire, chat, learn, gain sound advice, enjoy or simply sit back and take a rest. Our aim is to create a fresh and unique approach to landscape design and construction in Australia.
In conjunction with others, we are recognising the many faces that collectively make up the world of “Landscaping”. The feature garden will assist in raising the profile of our profession and provide a singular platform that enables people to become aware, informed and positively guided in the right way to approach a project whether for development, renovation or investment.
This is a unique visual opportunity to create something outlining the strengths while cross pollinating, a collection of supporting industries and disciplines.
Designed by Chris Slaughter of Scenic Blue Design (and current LNA NSW & ACT Board Member), the large format feature garden comprises of several interconnected gardens and an outdoor room. It will allow us to share and, by physical demonstration, provide some informative education to all who visit the Australian Garden Show Sydney stand - whether visiting to experience show gardens, to discuss career options, evaluate the benefits of using recognised professionals in the field through to current requirements/conditions placed upon the consumer and undertaking companies.
Landscape NSW & ACT (LNA) Members, supporting associations/institutes, NSW Fair Trading, recognised suppliers and chosen charity Ingham Institute will all be under one roof, and will give not only the LNA our vision for improvement but demonstrate to the public that together we can build better futures for all concerned.
Landscape Designers and now Landscape Contractors will be recognised for the creation of show gardens with the introduction of the Australian Garden Show Sydney Landscape Construction Award in conjunction with the LNA. This year’s judges include Graham Ross, VMM, House Rules’ Joe Snell, Director of Horticulture Operations at Royal Botanic Gardens, Jimmy Turner, Jim Fogarty, Linda Ross, Stuart Pittendrigh and Tim Creer.
The LNA will also be celebrating excellence in the industry with a special evening event at the Garden Show on Friday September 5. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Charlie Albone, a Landscape Designer, Contractor and television
presenter. With his talent, good looks and cheeky personality Charlie is a natural presenter. The Andreasens Green ‘Pot of Gold’ with a total $14,000 prize pool will be drawn at the biggest LNA event of the year and is not to be missed.
