DOWN TO THE RIVER
16 May 2019
Manufactured in Australia from recycled and reclaimed materials, Advanced Plastic Recycling’s ecocomp range of WPC products are ideal for large-scale projects, such as this ambitious safe access waterside project.
The new river access project included a safe access walkway, service deck, ramp and landing, all of which lead to a rowing boatshed used by two schools along the Swan River in Claremont, WA.
Vital Building Company was contracted to manage the construction work of this remote and sensitive site. They approached Advanced Plastic Recycling (APR) to custom manufacture and supply their WPC products for the entire project. In addition to this, APR also provided their design and engineering services through every stage of construction.
Throughout the project, the teams consulted closely with the traditional owners of the land and heritage consultants to ensure the project was completed successfully without causing damage.
The project consisted of five stages:
- Upper-level walkway
- Lower service deck and associated gabion construction
- Lower ramp and landing
- Foreshore gabion construction
- Foreshore beach replenishment and rehabilitation works
APR custom manufactured and supplied their WPC products for the decking, staircases (including railing and balustrading), ramp, landing and the retention walls. They also supplied products for the sub-frame posts, joists, bearers and stringers.
APR’s eco-friendly WPC products will not rot, rust, splinter or leach chemicals into the environment, making them the perfect long term, environmentally sound solution for this sensitive waterway project.
Through building a successful partnership and collaborating throughout the entire project, APR and Vital Building Services provided an exceptional outcome for their client.
