COLOUR YOUR WORLD
06 Sep 2017
Ball Australia is excited to announce their Colour Your World programme; an initiative aimed at inspiring landscapers, architects, nurseries and the general public to create more sustainable landscapes with pollinator-friendly plants.
Ball Australia is part of a global family of breeders and researchers committed to providing the Australian horticultural industry with the most commercially viable and innovative plants from around the world.
With a lovely of the natural environment guiding their company ethos, Ball Australia is proud to present the Colour Your World programme. To encourage pollinators and colour back into our landscapes, urban and rural, Ball Australia hopes to help inform and implement an Australia-wide reverence for our natural habitats.
Colour Your World will see the company label plants that are pollinator friendly, creating a greater awareness around sustainable landscape and garden planting. By encouraging pollinators and colour back into our environment Ball Australia hopes that wholesale consumers, landscape designers and project specifiers will help make a difference during times of dwindling or at-risk pollinator populations.
The initiative works on several levels within the landscape, architecture and horticultural industries.
First, consumer nurseries stocking these varieties with Colour Your World labelling from Ball Australia have the opportunity to promote healthier plant environments and gardens to their consumers. Helping to inform or remind the public of the specific varieties that are beneficial to our household pollinators, combating declining urban pollinator population on a local level.
Second, the Colour Your World labels can help support sustainability and green star rating measures. Landscapers, architects, town planners and councils have a visible opportunity to incorporate pollinating species of plant life in their projects. The benefits to the community include increased biodiversity and better plant and/or garden viability in a natural way. This encourages pollinator growth and protection at a local or state government level.
Finally, project specifiers have the opportunity to engage the public in their garden and landscapes by implementing and informing the public of the benefits of these varieties. As more and more discussions of natural engagement with our urban landscapes take place, wholesale nursery suppliers, landscapers and gardens have the opportunity to create public spaces that are both beautiful and educational. This brings pollinators into the discussion at commercial industry level.
The benefits of this initiative tap into an already flourishing effort from our industry professionals in creating sustainable and environmentally harmonious landscape and public space designs.
