A PLACE TO PLAY

Logan Landscapes recently completed another outdoor playspace for a new Childcare Centre at Taigum in Brisbane, which includes a range of play opportunities that entice the kids to come outside and learn through play. Take a look.
Established in 1979, Brisbane-based Logan Landscapes is a multi-award-winning contractor that has successfully completed more than 1500 Queensland projects between the Central Queensland and the New South Wales border. More than 50 landscaping jobs have been undertaken during the past 12 months in South East Queensland.
Logan Landscapes is committed to quality commercial landscaping and the qualified staff bring years of experience with them to every project. Having tradesmen like carpenters and bricklayers on the staff team means Logan Landscapes can respond to the challenges that occur with less stress on the project and the budget.
Logan Landscapes has been using its expertise to recently construct several childcare centres. The benefit of managing all aspects of the job ensuring the client only deals with one contractor for the whole project is a valuable aspect of the service given when using Logan Landscapes.
Most recently, Logan Landscapes worked closely with the owners and staff at this Childcare Centre in Brisbane to create the outdoor playspace, including the installation of a misting system to combats the oppressive, Queensland, summer heat. Additionally, there are water feeds to the creek and the sink in the sandpit.
A series of Queensland hardwood steps were installed in the outdoor space to provide a means for the kids to get into the building or the playspace through either standard steps or via the slide or rock climbing installations. This provides an additional level of fun for the kids that encourages them to head outside or inside for play and learning in both spaces.
Synthetic turf surfacing requires minimal maintenance and is a gentle surface for the kids’ safety. A series of umbrellas were installed across the area to provide shade and protection given the increase in recent summer temperatures. A timber fort with two towers was also installed as an alluring hideaway where imaginations have the freedom to explore.
The combination of timber tones and vibrant colours creates a space that is exciting and enticing for the kids and will provide them with hours of fun-filled experiences. The predominant timber species were Tallowood and Ironbark.
Logan Landscapes delivered a high-quality finish to the playspace at Taigum Childcare Centre with a keen attention to detail, as required by the client, Consequently, this resulted in them requesting the services of Logan’s Landscapes for future projects, given their pleasure with the final result.
