Iterative design strategies, award winning urban design projects, and the future of Sydney’s liability will all get a closer look at this year’s DesignBUILD education program.

Iterative design strategies, award-winning urban design projects, and the future of Sydney’s liability will all get a closer look at this year’s DesignBUILD education program when it debuts at the brand new International Convention Centre Sydney in May 2017.

DesignBUILD, Australia's only business platform dedicated to all aspects of architecture, building, construction and design, will return to Sydney from 3 - 5 May to offer an industry perspective on the changing face of Sydney.

The 2017 seminar program sets the bar high, with international speaker Michael Lockwood, Head of Conventions for Populous, discussing the influences of international trends on the newly opened ICC Sydney. Michael will appear alongside some of Australia’s pioneering researchers, including Professor Anthony Burke, Head of School of Architecture at University of Technology, Sydney, who will explore a range of new near-term construction and material technologies and discuss how they could affect the design and build processes of tomorrow.

Marketing Manager, Stephanie Bleakley, said DesignBUILD was excited to bring a newly invigorated event back to Sydney following the enormous success of last year’s award-winning Melbourne expo.

“The draw of DesignBUILD is that it showcases the latest products from across the entire design and build process, and offers a unique environment where professionals such as urban planners and architects can interact and foster interdisciplinary collaboration and genuine innovation,” states Stephanie.

In addition to the keynote sessions, the program will also include the Sydney launch of the ‘Lunch + Learn’ panel series. This series will feature key representatives from each industry sector and illustrate the need for earlier communication between all industry departments for better building outcomes.
