DesignBUILD 2010 has secured an exciting range of exhibitors to showcase the industry’s finest at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre June 23 – 25 and it’s fast becoming the must attend event for any building and construction trade of professional.
Exhibition Manager Steve Horsley said there was plenty to see with over 450 exhibitors showcasing thousands of new, innovative and sustainable products and solutions.
Exhibitors include Stormtech, who will launch a new stainless steel lineal grate and drain range, which includes a 65mm slot punched grate for both a 40mm or 25mm deep drain.
Troy Creighton of Stormtech said the lineal drainage system is highly versatile and adaptable because it is easily adjustable to different sizes during the installation process.
“It has a very high flow rate for such a shallow drain with a neutral fall and the grates block out debris that would otherwise go down the drain, which means there is no need to use aggressive chemicals to clean the drainage system,” he said.
The DesignBUILD expo has a strong Australian focus in 2010, with nearly 80% of all exhibitors being Australian, while all products on show must meet Australian Building Standards.
Designer Tanks will be showcasing its range of contemporary stainless steel tanks, which are all food grade and safe for storing drinking water. Director Glenda Nichol said steel tanks are more reliable than plastic alternatives and when it comes to style, nothing beats timeless, classic stainless steel for appearance and longevity.
“Whether you have an inner-city townhouse, an outer suburban family home or a commercial site, water as a natural resource needs to be valued.
“We have extensive experience in farming and harvesting natural water and can custom design and manufacture stainless steel tanks and offer valuable insight to capture, store and maximise natural water supplies.”
As home owners seek to enjoy the natural external elements of their land and really enjoy alfresco living at home, exhibitor Smartech Door Systems have worked hard to bring the outside in.
According to Smartech Door Systems Director Anthony Cassar, the all new Aluminium Glide-Away Glass door range is changing the way people design their homes and it means more emphasis can be placed on creating an external paradise that is enjoyed year round from inside the home or outside.
“With spanning laminated glass and no annoying roll tracks or clumsy fold away techniques, it really allows the landscaping industry to create visual masterpieces that become part of the internal decor and style of the home, as it’s all visible whether the Glide-Away doors are open or closed,” he said.
David Oliver from Elmich said installing low height decks using SpiraPave can now be achieved easier and more quickly “SpiraPave, manufactured from recycled plastic, supports up to 2.5 tonnes and allows for rapid installation of low height decking with infinite adjustment from 20 to 87mm,” he said.
David added that SpiraPave is lightweight when compared to brick, metal or timber supports and unlike metal and timber, it does not rust, rot or degrade.
DesignBUILD 2010 boasts dedicated areas such as Tools of the Trade, Applications in Action and Green Building Zone and is co-located with the CEDIA expo and the annual Plumbing Design Show, including Green Plumbing.
DesignBUILD is Australia's only 100 per cent trade orientated exhibition and offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience the forefront of design and construction to keep the industry informed and focused on new, innovative and sustainable building and construction practices.
