SIS is proud to boast that its current team was responsible for the design and construction of Australia’s first bridge structure and pedestrian boardwalk constructed using materials made from recycled composites.

SIS traditionally uses FRP and WPC for the construction of civil infrastructure projects; typically boardwalks, bridges and viewing platforms. They have used their standard FRP composite to develop groundbreaking technology; combining two materials of different class composites to co-extrude a multi-composite material that is manufactured in a continuous length manufacturing process. This process produces a FRP hollow core of any shape with an outer layer of WPC. The hollow core can be filled with foaming agents of different density to allow the product to adhere to compressive strength requirements.
Carbon fibres have been added to flanges in SIS I-beams to increase stiffness and reduce deflection, thereby giving clients lighter structures with larger single spans, making them more cost effective.
These new generation multi-composite materials have given SIS the ability to compete in a traditionally competitive market with a product that is stronger, lighter, corrosion resistant, and does not require painting.
