BUILDING WITH ROOCYCLE
Building with Roocycle is easy. Using traditional woodworking techniques you can use Roocycle ET to build for your next project. Here are some progress reports on the various projects Moodie Outdoor Products is currently completing across Sydney.
Images (top to bottom)The Coal Loader staircase link –WavertonA series of Roocycle ET steps and landing were constructed to link Balls Head Dr and Balls Head Rd through an existing nature reserve leading up to The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability Waverton.
All components including stringers, sub-floor structure, hand rails, treads and decking are dressed Roocycle ET.
Total length of staircase is 35m x 1.2m wide with handrails both sides.
Steps include luminous ECOGLO nosing plus an additional galvanised hot-dipped gal pipe handrail.
North Parramatta – Jeffery Ave boardwalkA boardwalk using Roocycle ET (sub-floor structure, hand rail) and Enviro decking was constructed to ramp up and over large tree roots in Jeffery Ave, Nth Parramatta, linking a concrete path.
Boardwalk is 16m long x 1.8m wide, with a handrail along one side.
Bexley – Jack & Jill Pre-school deck with fence surroundA deck using Roocycle ET and Enviro decking was constructed at Jack & Jill pre-school Bexley as an extension to the existing play area.
Roocycle ET posts and sub-floor structure were used with Enviro decking and cladding.
Traditional metal pool fencing was then used to enclose the deck and match up existing fencing.
The pre-school had a specific intention to use composite material for the following reasons – no maintenance, non-splinter material, smooth appearance.
Kokoda Track Viewing Platform – ConcordThe old timber viewing platform had been eaten away by termites – and it had to be replaced by ANZAC day!
A Roocycle ET viewing platform was designed to replace the old one.
Using large 300 x 40mm beams, a sub-floor structure was constructed from Roocycle ET with ET decking being utilised as well.
The nature of ET profiles enabled the hand rails and joists to be curved to create a flowing design and construction that will never be eaten by termites or require any maintenance.
