PLA QLD Shaping Safer Cities
Can better town planning and city design decrease crime and bring the community back to public spaces? This is the question that the PLA QLD Shaping Safer Cities hopes to answer by considering the best ways to create and redevelop safe communal spaces.
The event is presented by DR Nicole Kalms.
Why should you attend?
Place and policy makers, council and private developers, urban designers, students and academics, government and NGO officers, and the landscape and design industry network are invited to take part in the seminar.
On the day attendees will have the opportunity to:
Be inspired by research projects and programs from Monash University XYX Lab that focuses on shaping safer cities.
Be exposed to the “Free to Be” digital mapping tool. A tool designed to empower young people to share the places they love, places they avoid and places they would like improved.
Network with peers and leaders in and idea generation activity to co-design safer community solutions.
