The Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast is known for its animated films and theme park characters. Over the years, visitors to the park have enjoyed the ‘Madagascar Live’ show at King Julien’s Theatre. Water is used in a number of the shows and therefore draining the timber stage is of critical importance. A watertight joint between the drain and the non-slip vinyl floor is also very important to preserve the life of the installation.
In 2002, ACO’s System 100 stainless steel grated channels with Vinyl Seal edging was installed to drain the stage. This ACO product has proven to be as durable as it is eye-catching.
At the time, ACO advised and assisted the designers with design and installation advice for the drainage system that had to be suspended and fixed between timber floor joists.
