THE SMART WAY TO PLAY
15 February 2017
Playscape Creations has released two new additions to their Smart Play range of play structures, offering children from 6 months to 5 years a new series of fun and educational challenges.
Playscape Creations introduced the Smart Play concept to the Australian market with the Smart Play Motion in 2014, followed by the Smart Play Cube in 2015. With their unique appearance and compact footprints, the Smart Play range from Landscape Structures fits into tight spaces, and the affordable price fits into tight budgets. Each Smart Play structure is cleverly designed and manufactured using recycled materials and making the best possible use of panel cutouts to create fun and challenging activity components.
Now, the newest additions to the family take ‘smart’ to a whole new level. Smart Play Nook and Loft will take children from early crawling exploration to active climbing and social play in a fun, whimsical environment. The Smart Play Nook is suitable for ages 6 to 23 months, while the Smart Play Loft covers 2 to 5 year-olds. Together they span a critical period of childhood development, making these Smart Play play structures ideal for anywhere young children play.
Sized just right for little crawlers and early walkers, the whimsical Smart Play Nook offers plenty of colourful activities to capture the attention of growing adventurers. As they develop, they become ready for Smart Play Loft and a world of imaginary play. With twenty engaging interactive elements on each unit, Nook and Loft encourage imaginative play while helping to develop both large and small motor skills, as well as strategic thinking in developing minds and bodies.
The range of activities and inbuilt messaging have been created to support language development and whole-child learning. This was achieved through guidance from literacy and child development initiatives that promote equality, ensuring every child is afforded the chance to reach their full potential through play.
When adults and children play together, language-rich interactions support a child’s brain and early language development. The variety in Smart Play activities promotes whole-child learning across the key developmental domains of literacy, math, science, nature, social-emotional development, nutrition and physical activity.
