SWIMMING IN THE SKY

Three bridges on three different levels will connect two staggering buildings that together form the Sky Habitat residential complex in Singapore.
The Sky Habitat residential complex in Singapore is nearing completion, just four years after the famous Marina Bay Sands hotel was completed. Situated just 20 minutes from Singapore’s bustling CBD, Sky Habitat will stretch 38 storeys tall, with the upper-middle-income housing development clearly representative of high-density, high-rise housing that is becoming increasingly in demand across more and more Asian cities.
Three bridges on three different levels will connect the two staggering buildings that form the residential complex. The lower two bridges will be green landscaped circulation routes, while the upper bridge will connect the two buildings on the top floor in the form of an elevated swimming pool. Similarly to the Marina Bay Sands, the pool will boast magnificent views of the rapidly expanding skyline.
As is the norm for most high rise residential complexes, Sky Habitat will offer common amenities on ground level. Lush gardens and outdoor spaces, outdoor events rooms, walking paths, a sunken parking podium and a more conventionally located ‘ground level’ swimming pool are a few of the amenities to name.
The complex will adorn a porous overall mass, allowing air to breeze through and light to penetrate in a bid to make the most of the tropical climate of Singapore. Furthermore, over half the individual residences will boast access to private gardens or roof terraces.
The overall ambition of Sky Habitat is to replace the sense of density and concentration often associated with such high rise residential developments, with one of a village-like clustering, echoing hillside developments.
