OUTDOOR DESIGN & LIVING ZONE AT MIFGS
01 Mar 2009
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Outdoor Design & Living has teamed up with LIAV to host the Outdoor Design & Living Zone at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show (MIFGS).
Australia’s best-selling outdoor design magazine, Outdoor Design & Living, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2009. To commemorate this milestone, Outdoor Design & Living will have a presence at Australia’s premier outdoor design and horticultural event, the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show (MIFGS).
Universal Magazines, publisher of Outdoor Design & Living, has teamed up with the Landscape Industries Association of Victoria (LIAV) to create the Outdoor Design and Living Zone at the show. The Outdoor Design and Living Zone will feature four landscape gardens sponsored by Universal Magazines and designed and constructed by LIAV members.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 10th anniversary by helping some of Victoria’s leading landscapers show what they can do,” says Associate Publisher Janice Williams. “Outdoor Design & Living magazine has always been about showing the best of what landscapers can do, so by joining forces with LIAV at MIFGS we have been able to bring to life the kind of ideas that you see in the magazine.”
The Gold Anniversary edition of Outdoor Design & Living will be launched at MIFGS and will showcase award-winning landscapes from around the country, as well as designer outdoor spaces and gardens to be lived in. “The outdoor makeover market is not just about gardening; it’s about outdoor kitchens, rooms, pools and turning your backyard into a lifestyle arena,” says National Sales & Publishing Manager Emil Montibeler.
In addition to celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Gold Edition of Outdoor Design & Living also introduces a new section of the magazine dedicated to Commercial Landscapes. Commercial and public works make up a large percentage of the work undertaken by the landscape and associated industries and represents some of the highest profile and most innovative work being produced around the country.
“In edition 19 of Outdoor Design & Living – our biggest issue to date – we look back on a decade of outdoor design,” says Outdoor Design & Living Editor Karen Booth. “But our bumper 10th Anniversary Edition is not just about reflecting on how far we have come; it’s also about looking forward to the next decade of design innovation and helping homeowners around the country achieve the ideal lifestyle landscape.”
After 13 years, MIFGS remains the biggest flower and garden show in the country. Attracting more than 10,000 visitors from Australia and beyond, MIFGS will be held at the heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building and the Carlton Gardens from April 1 – 5, 2009.
