This week the LNA Board of Directors met over lunch with Chinese delegates to discuss involvement at the 10th China International Garden Expo.
This week the LNA Board of Directors met over lunch with Chinese delegates to discuss involvement at the 10th China International Garden Expo held in Wuhan, 2014. Mr. Su Nibin, the Director General of the Wuhun Landscaping Bureau offered an official invitation to the event, with his 8 accompanying executives from major parks around Wuhan.
The Chinese International Garden Expo will be located in Wuhan Park, a 1,000 square metres park in a rural fish and rice growing town. The design concept for 2014 will be “Green connected you and me – Garden’s integrated into the Philosophy of Life” and will showcase the region’s beautiful natural landscape of rivers and mountains. With a comprehensive water purification system in development as well as the production of native edible foods such as lotus and rice, the designers of the event have adopted the design philosophy “step on the grass, touch the water, eat the landscape”.
The 10th China International Garden Expo was initiated in 1997 and each year they invite more than 200 cities from all over the world to set up their own exhibitions. When it is over, the exhibition area is permanently kept open to the public for free, which often sees millions of local and international visitors. The Expo is the largest garden and landscape architecture event in China, run collaboratively by the Ministry of Construction and the local government.
The LNA is very grateful to receive a first-hand invitation to this exciting international event and look forward to their future participation.
