The 2010 Gardening and Rare Plants Expo will be held March 13 and 14 at the historical Tesselaar Gardens in Melbourne.
The perfect weekend for green thumbs and budding gardeners, the expo will feature more than 50 specialist growers and nurserymen with a unique range of new, rare and unusual plants. There’ll also be expert gardening talks and information all weekend, compeered by broadcaster and horticultural writer Stephen Ryan.
The Gardening and Rare Plants Expo is a unique opportunity for gardeners of all ages and abilities to enjoy a weekend discovering new, rare and unusual plants. It offers the chance to learn directly from the growers, as well as some of Australia’s leading horticulturists.
The free informative and instructional talks will run throughout the weekend and are aimed at both the budding gardener and the expert green thumb. The speaker program offers experience, knowledge and inspiration from specialists in their field. There’ll also be a free information desk where you can have all your plant problems solved and gardening questions answered by the Ferny Creek Horticultural Society.
Each year, improvements are made to ensure the expo remains appealing and in 2010 the large Australian Tuberous Begonia display will again be part of the event. The Begonia’s are bred in South Australia and grown in Victoria with the blooms in many cases measuring in excess of 25cm across. Entry to the display is included in the general admission price.
The Gardening and Rare Plants Expo will showcase the best of what the gardening world has to offer, and is the perfect opportunity to gain inspiration and knowledge.
