GES 2009 - THE HEART OF THE AUSTRALIAN GARDEN INDUSTRY
01 Aug 2009
Green Expo Sydney, the heart of the Australian garden industry, is just around the corner. Held August 25 and 26 at The Grand Pavilion, Rosehill Gardens, GES 2009 is a must-see event. An initiative of the Nursery & Garden Industry NSW & ACT (NGINA), GE
Even though the GES Team put up the “full house” sign several weeks ago, there are still enquiries about exhibition space availability — that’s gratifying for our industry and hopefully all these people will be on board for next year. The final tally is 92 exhibiting businesses and 118 spaces. The hall will be full without any empty spaces.
Where and when?
Tuesday, August 25 from 8.30am to 7pm and Wednesday, August 26 from 9am to 12.30pm.
The venue is fantastic — The Grand Pavilion at Rosehill Gardens, James Ruse Drive, Parramatta Sydney. As a visitor you can either park in P1, which is accessed via Grand Avenue off James Ruse Drive, Gate 1 or else park in P4 directly off James Ruse Drive and walk through Gate 3.
What GES is all about?
Green Expo Sydney has come about as a result of the need for a sophisticated trade-only nursery and garden industry expo to be staged pre-spring. Sydney is ideally located midway between Brisbane and Melbourne and can easily attract horticulture-minded people from north, south and west! GES, as it has become known, aims to become the pre-eminent annual green expo that all of industry looks forward to, whether as an exhibitor or as a registered visitor.
GES is designed to appeal to a very wide cross-section of horticultural interests: retailers, growers, allied nursery traders, landscapers, contractors, designers, maintenance, architects, media, council officers, students and so on. GES will have a very broad appeal — there will be something of interest for everyone.
It won’t be dull and is definitely not a monthly market/trade day. You will be guaranteed to see some absolutely knockout displays. Judging by the feedback we are receiving, exhibitors are really going all-out to impress. Awards will be given for best displays and there is an exciting pre-show feeling of anticipation. GES will be big, so be there!
Fusion Showcase
Fusion this year has been combined with GES and it is an opportunity for new plants and products to have their own stage! Before you enter the exhibition area, you will walk past a long Fusion Showcase Wall. Featured here will be lines that are “New to 09”. There has been a great deal of interest and you will see more than 60 individual exhibits. In addition, you will be able to nominate your favourite green-life and non-green-life product in the People’s Choice Award.
Kick-start spring!
GES offers you the chance to mix and mingle, network, plan ahead, source new lines, talk to the experts one-on-one — all in a sophisticated trade show environment. It is an opportunity to bring as many of your key staff along to be part of this ambitious and timely event staged by the Nursery & Garden Industry, NSW & ACT (NGINA). You can check out a list of exhibitors on the website: www.ngina.com.au/greenexposydney
Brendan Moar, of Dry Spell Gardening fame on Foxtel/Austar TV and a fantastic landscape designer will be officially opening GES at 8.30am on Tuesday, August 25. Be there if you want to meet Brendan and be part of the first-day buzz.
