AUSTSWIM “SOAK IT UP” CONFERENCE 2017
24 Apr 2017
The AUSTSWIM 2017 “Soak It Up” conference is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all Australians through better industry leadership and progress. Read what they have planned here.
A skilled, connected and inspired workforce has long been acknowledged as a key to business success. It is no different in our industry – and the part-time nature of many of our aquatic professionals makes for an added challenge.
AUSTSWIM's 2017 series of state-based metropolitan and regional aquatic education conferences are designed to help our industry achieve that magic trio of requirements for success – skill, connection, and inspiration.
The AUSTSWIM conference series will provide an opportunity for members of the aquatic industry; teachers and presenters, swim centre managers, owners, coordinators and service providers from around Australia to enhance their skills and knowledge through a selected range of professional development sessions.
The AUSTSWIM “SOAK IT UP” 2017 National Aquatic Education Conference is always a highlight and an event not to be missed on September 27th and 28th at Tweed Heads.
The conferences are part of AUSTSWIM’s continuing quest to nurture, support and enhance an AUSTSWIM skilled workforce.
In this summer of record fatal and non-fatal drowning events, our goal is to promote swimming and water safety education more than ever in 2017. There is no better time to embrace the late Nelson Mandela’s philosophy: “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”
This year AUSTSWIM’ s focus on education will feature the:
- Purpose of learning during a lesson
- Importance of goal setting for teachers and students alike
- Outcomes of learning
- Journey we travel as individuals on the pathway to achievement
These themes will be embraced as the conferences highlight the latest initiatives in water safety, aquatic education, aqua fitness, and middle management in the sector.
Conference participation is considered as part of the required evidence of learning. So, get ready and prepared for the year ahead - check your licence expiry dates, collate professional development hours and sign up for some additional education which will contribute to, as Nelson Mandela said, “your most powerful weapon”.
There is something for everyone at all the AUSTSWIM conferences and they are the ideal platform to build team skills, commitment and connectivity.
