The AILA NSW Landscape Architecture Project Awards were held in December at Cockatoo Island in Sydney, and marked the second year of back to back state awards.
The AILA NSW 2008 Awards were held on December 4 at Cockatoo Island in Sydney.
2008 marked the second year of back to back State Awards and saw a record number of entries submitted - 62 entries were received in 2008 with 19 Awards presented on the night.
The AILA Landscape Architecture Project Awards promote and advance the profession of landscape architecture by:
Fostering public awareness and recognition of the work of landscape architects
Encouraging good practice by members of the landscape architecture profession
Creating local, regional, national and global recognition for Australian landscape architects
AILA (The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects) provides the primary leadership, structure and network to effectively harness and focus the intellectual energy of Australian landscape architects in the creation of more meaningful, enjoyable, equitable and sustainable environments.
The Major sponsor of the AILA NSW 2008 Awards was Andreasens Green. Other sponsors included Alpine Nurseries; Botton & Gardiner Urban Furniture; Co-ordinated Landscapes; NSW Department of Planning; Marsupial Landscape Management; and Roads and Traffic Authority, Urban Design Network Development Branch. The venue sponsor was Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.
