CALAMVALE DISTRICT PARK

Opened to the public on Australia Day 2012, Calamvale District Park has since been drawing crowds from across South-East Queensland, eager to experience an Australian first in revolutionary playground design.

Featuring a variety of dedicated youth and community spaces, the new play destination is most widely recognized for its custom 7.5m high climbing structure known as the Sky Walk.

Designed by German company COROCORD, the Sky Walk is a 20m-long system of enclosed net bridges, suspended between a series of 7.5m Sky Cabins. Climbers both young and old can gain access to the cabins via vertical, tunnel-shaped rope nets or Octanet structure, offering varied opportunities for climbing, swinging, balancing and discovering.

Set amongst the natural environment the close mesh design provides complete play security while allowing comprehensive views of the surrounding panorama. The narrow passageways challenge coordination and balance thanks to the continually swinging rope construction while a giant 11 meter steel slide rewards users with an exhilarating ride down the long enclosed shoot.

Providing play opportunities for the young and the young at heart, this community focused adventure playground has quickly become a family favourite for locals and visitors alike.
