Over the last 20 years urbanisation of the eastern seaboard has seen dramatic losses of native habitat and the continued degradation of our waterways. Many plant and animal species important to our Australian identity are under threat.
“More than 310 species of native animal and over 1,180 species of native plants are at risk of disappearing forever”. (Dept of S.E.W.P & C. 2011).
In 2012 Evolve Environmental Solutions was formed, inspired by the need to deliver sound environmental outcomes in a reliable and cost effective way.
Evolve Business Development Manager, John White, a qualified horticulturalist with over 25 years’ experience discusses the creation and philosophies of Evolve.
“I have been partnering with various landscape companies for over ten years now, firstly as a plant supplier and now as a Project Manager. When managing projects that had large components of bush regeneration, I realised we had both the skills and the resources to fulfil the client’s requirements and achieve the desired outcomes of all parties involved – delivering a sustainable outcome on time and on budget.”
Over the past twelve months, the Evolve team consisting of a qualified horticulturalist, environmental scientist and the resources of Eureka Landscapes, have maintained a number of key projects in Queensland including the beautiful environmental award nominated wetlands at Gainsborough Greens, an environmentally sensitive development developed by Mirvac in the Queensland suburb of Pimpama.
Consisting of over 100,000 native trees, shrubs and grasses, the wetlands at Gainsborough Greens host a variety of native fish and bird species that until recently were not seen in the area. The growth rates achieved by the consistent management of the wetlands were exceptional.
